ABOUT ABOUT

Just as scientists investigate the world around them, artists and art historians similarly develop ideas, formulate theories, and test hypotheses. In anticipation of the fall exhibition "Intimate Impressionism from the National Gallery of Art," teachers explore the deep connections between science and art over three days of observation and experimentation. Hear from experts, study works of art, and participate in hands-on workshops that examine topics from climate to color theory.

Summer Teacher Institute meets daily from Wednesday, June 11 through Friday, June 13 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with a break for lunch each day.

Teachers earn 18 hours of continuing professional education for attending all three days. Fee (includes lunch on Friday and museum admission all three days): McNay members $65; nonmembers $75. Registration deadline: June 4.
